First thing I would so is get a real good attorney that knows all about this process. I would hire a great investment manager/company to handle the millions I won. I would take care of my immediate family with a nice trust fund for them. This would cover their future and their children. I would give to certain charities I support on a routine basis. I would donate money to the school I work at as an endowment so they never have to worry about the kids needing sports equipment or facility upgrades. I would retire and travel all over the place with my wife. If it was a big win in the 10’s of millions then my wife would pick out a beach house and I would pick out the mountain house. I would rotate between those two and our family home.
Then I would change my phone number so all the so-called old friends do not come at me with all their grand ideas and schemes wanting me to invest in their future. I would invest in my families future, the school, church and some organizations and that is all.
